Jean E. Skiba Honored by Cambridge Who's Who

Jean E. Skiba is the recipient of a Certificate of Advanced Study in Science from Wesleyan University.

    NORWICH, CT August 30, 2010 /Education PR News/ -- Jean E. Skiba, Anatomy and Physiology and Biology Instructor for Three Rivers Community College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.

With 33 years of professional experience, Jean's expertise is in Human Biology. At Three Rivers Community College, she is responsible for instructing mainly pre-nursing students. She also advocates for hospice and the elderly as she has been caring for her mother for 13 years to date. Jean's mom has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia and breast cancer. She feels it is imperative that patients and families are educated about their diagnoses. Prior to her current position, Ms. Skiba worked as a secondary and postsecondary teacher. She attributes her success to her passion for educating and a strong desire to help others.

Ms. Skiba has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, a Master's Degree in Science, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Science and in 2002, received a Certificate in Clinical Data Management. A member of the Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration, she volunteers for the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, March of Dimes Foundation, American Institute for Cancer Research, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the American Lung Association. In addition, she is an avid supporter of the Humane Society and local T.E.A.M. ("Tait's Every Animal Matters"). Additionally in 2008 she was awarded the student nominated recognition of Who's Who Among American's Teachers. In the future, Ms. Skiba will obtain a Ph.D. in Public Health Education.
