Clay School at the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is a Thing of the Past

Literacy in Africa is distinctly lower than in Europe. Some African children often have to travel many kilometers every day, and those are the lucky ones. Some children actually don't even have the opportunity to attend a school.

PRAGUE, August 20, 2011 /Education PR News/ -- This is especially due to small capacities of schools and also because the closest school is often just too far. The children will no longer have to crouch in a small hut with no benches and necessary school supplies thanks to Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park. Soon they will start attending the newly built school.

The children at the old school used to sit on the ground, most of them did not even have writing supplies or notebooks at their disposal. While in the Czech Republic the average number of students per class is about 20, there are more than 70 children in a class in Africa. Despite this they will at least learn to read and write. The study conditions in Mozambique will improve thanks to the Community Development Program, which is taking place under the patronage of the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park.

The new school is being built by volunteers from Europe and local people, who thanks to this have the opportunity to make some extra money.

About Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park

Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park spans across Mozambique and is one of the largest private African parks. It neighbors and fluently ties into the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe. The primary objective for the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is to protect the natural wealth preserved in the area that is practically untouched by humans. Another integral activity of this park is a sensitive, sustainable and long term development of local communities.

Park activities focus on the construction of schools, hospitals, healthcare facilities, water reservoirs or the development of local infrastructure. All these steps are taken with utmost consideration for the environment while respecting the pristine state and beauty of this area.

Currently Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is looking for other companies, which would get involved in the Community Development Program and help with financing of other planned projects.
