Benefits of Games in Education
As already stated, children love to play games. They get excited and their interests are stirred. Simply put, youngsters enjoy having fun and doing something different from the same old routine! But what are some of the other advantages to using education games?
-Research indicates that games allow students to focus well enough to learn better.
-Most children enjoy various levels of competition, and they also enjoy beating their own time or scores in certain games. Games can be a superb motivator.
-Playing a game can take away frustration when learning skills or concepts. Again, it's all in fun and children are more relaxed and ready to absorb information. Fear of failure is less of an
issue.
-Games are great for review or even remedial work for older students without the pressure or labels.
-Certain games can teach children to be team players and work cooperatively within teams to achieve success.
-Playing games teaches children..."
