Shirley N. Rosenbloom Named a Professional of the Year in Education

Shirley Rosenbloom plans to start her own youth program to ensure that children receive the services they need to be properly educated

SACRAMENTO, CA, October 03, 2011 /Education PR News/ -- Shirley N. Rosenbloom, Academic Resource Teacher of Sacramento START, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Education. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Ms. Rosenbloom has held a strong interest in education since she was a child. This passion has never wavered throughout her professional career, which spans nearly three decades. For the past seven years, she has served as an academic resource teacher for Sacramento START, a youth program devoted to cultivating learning and leadership skills. Ms. Rosenbloom is responsible for developing curriculum and ensuring that her curriculum is aligned with scholastic lessons. She is also tasked with training staff members. Ms. Rosenbloom plans to continue expanding and developing the START program in the years to come. Eventually, she plans to start her own program to ensure that children receive the services they need to be properly educated.

In 1983, Ms. Rosenbloom earned a master's degree in special education from California State University, Sacramento. She previously earned a bachelor's degree in art history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining Sacramento START, she served as a resource teacher at Shalom School for 12 years. When not working, Ms. Rosenbloom enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. With an extensive background in volunteer work, she supports a number of her local charities. In 2009, she was honored as a Woman of Distinction by the Jewish Federation of Sacramento.
