SUNY Ulster Winter*net Courses Offer Students Affordability, Convenience, and International Study

College students can earn credits quickly and economically during their holiday break by taking online or classroom courses through SUNY Ulster's Winter*net program, which lets them earn three credits in three weeks. Open to students at any college.

STONE RIDGE, NY, October 08, 2011 /Education PR News/ -- Registration runs from October 10, through Dec. 16, with classes running from Dec. 26, 2011 to Jan. 13, 2012.
Four International study courses offered during Winter*net are Special Topics in Art (design, fashion, and drawing) in Spain, and Amazon Basin Ecology in Panama. For information and pricing contact Richard Cattabiani at (845) 687-5135.
The accelerated program provides numerous benefits to students, including earning credits in one-fifth the time of a normal 15-week semester with the convenience and flexibility of taking online classes.
SUNY Ulster's comprehensive Winter*net schedule includes such popular courses online ranging from Biology, Business Law, Marketing, and General Psychology to Western Civilization, Modern Japan and American History and Spanish.
In addition to the full schedule of online offerings, there are traditional classroom courses, and a hybrid class on Information Literacy will be offered that combines face-to-face classroom learning with the flexibility of online instruction.
In comparison to earning the same credits at a private university, the community college program can save students hundreds of dollars, providing an affordable and convenient option toward completing their degrees.
"Winter*net is ideal for current SUNY Ulster students, students from other public or private colleges in the region or those returning home during their mid-semester break," said John Ganio, the college's dean of academic affairs. "The online format and accelerated class schedule can help students get a jump start on the semester, complete a required course or explore a new area of interest."
For registration information, visit www.sunyulster.edu and click on Winter*net or call 800-724-0833. The cost per credit hour for New York state residents is $95, plus a $10 per credit fee for online courses.
