As an Associate Professor in the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts at the Hong Kong Institute of Education, Hilary is highly regarded for her unique perspective and commitment as an educator and researcher.
Stemming from a passion for culture, Hilary has extended her expertise to others both as a professor and through her research. For the past 25 years, Hilary has an interdisciplinary focus that encompasses Heritage Studies, Cultural Tourism Development and Marketing, Art Events and Sustainable Tourism, and the Social and Cultural impacts of Tourism. Joining her extensive knowledge in these areas with her diverse point of view, Hilary is able to inspire not only her students, but also audiences as a keynote speaker at the events organized by many highly regarded associations.
Her dedication to her profession is evidenced by 97 published works, a number that continues to grow. Through comprehensive research and immaculate writing, Hilary delves into a variety of topics that hold her interest some of which include Cultural Heritage, World Heritage and Cultural Tourism. Among the assortment of works Hilary has published, are two books she has written in collaboration with other authors, "Cultural Heritage Management in China" and "Cultural Tourism: The Partnership between Tourism and Cultural Heritage Management". Hilary continues to expand her reputation in the Asia-Pacific Region with her recent appointment as Senior Research Coordinator for the UNESCO Observatory for Research in Local Culture and Creativity in Education.
