Woodson University to Make Online Education Major Focus
Woodson University has decided to place a major focus upon online education. On Saturday December 17th the Woodson University Board of Trustees voted to make their online education program a major focus for the 2012-2013 academic year.
CONCORD, NC, December 21, 2011 /Education PR News/ -- Woodson University has decided to place a major focus upon online education. On Saturday December 17th the Woodson University Board of Trustees voted to make their online education program a major focus for the 2012-2013 academic year.
"This past March the university received religious exemption from licensure from the University of North Carolina and thereby was granted permission to conduct degree programming online originating from Concord, North Carolina" said A.L. Fleming, the university president.
In making this priority the university has positioned itself to reach a student population beyond Concord and remain on the forefront of the educational landscape, all the while ensuring that is educational programs are affordable, accessible, and accelerated. While priority is given to online education the university will continue to conduct face to face course instruction at its downtown Concord facilities.
"The university Board of Trustees voted to allocate resources towards bolstering the online education efforts in our signature degree programs, bachelors of Christian management and leadership and bachelors of Christian teacher education" said Maurice Harden, university vice president for academic affairs.
In November the university received "applicant in good standing" status with the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education.
