Denise L. Pennywell Included in Distinguished Registry
Denise Pennywell was honored with a STAR Teacher Award in 2010
THOMSON, GA, May 18, 2011 /Education PR News/ -- Denise L. Pennywell, Teacher at Mildred E. Freeman Elementary School of the Warren County School System, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
Celebrating her 32nd year as a teacher, Ms. Pennywell ventured into education at the encouragement of her grandmother and high school principal. She loves her job and is gratified by her ability to impact so many lives. Currently working at the Mildred E. Freeman Elementary School of the Warren County School System, where she has spent the majority of her career, she is responsible for teaching three subjects.
Ms. Pennywell was recognized for her laudable efforts with a STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) Teacher Award in 2010, a Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching, a Taking Time to Care Award, and a Certificate of Recognition from the Georgia Secretary of State. She has also been named the Teacher of the Year four times. Ms. Pennywell, who belongs to the Georgia Association of Educators, the National Service-Learning Partnership, and the ASCD, is now pursuing a doctorate in curriculum at Argosy University Atlanta. In the future, she hopes to serve in a position that allows her to help new and veteran instructors alike.
