Marketa M.H. Harvey Named a VIP Member of Cambridge Who's Who
Marketa M.H. Harvey's award-winning students are living proof of her skills as a science teacher
FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, May 26, 2011 /Education PR News/ -- Marketa M.H. Harvey, Biology and Chemistry Teacher of Divine Child High School, has been recognized as a VIP member by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in science education.
As a biology and chemistry teacher at Divine Child High School, Ms. Harvey teaches courses in biology and chemistry, providing study guides and background material on all lessons taught, in addition to conducting demonstrations, attending workshops, mentoring and advising students, and serving as a science fair coordinator. She also leads all active laboratory sessions, ensuring that the protocols set by the scientific method are followed. Ms. Harvey's most gratifying moment as a teacher is seeing the spark of insight in her students' eyes when they grasp the material and can apply it in their work. It gives her great pleasure to know that 18 of her former students are grand prize winners of The International Science and Engineering Fair.
Ms. Harvey received a Bachelor of Science in secondary education from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Science in education from Wayne State University. She is a member of the National Science Teachers Association. In 2003, she was named Michigan Science Teacher of the Year by the Affiliate Council of Science and the Engineering Society of Detroit, she was recognized with the Detroit Edison Science Teacher award in 2000, 2003, 2004 and 2005 and was recognized with the 25 Years of Service in Education Award in 2009 by the Archdiocese of Detroit.
