Nuriya Mukhtasimova, Ph.D., Recognized for Contributions to Medical Science Research

Dr. Mukhtasimova is involved in studying the acetylcholine receptor at the neuromuscular junction

    ROCHESTER, MN, May 18, 2011 /Education PR News/ -- Nuriya Mukhtasimova, Postdoctoral Research Associate for Receptor Biology Laboratory at the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in science research.

Through the influence of her parents, who are both research scientists, and her desire to help others, Dr. Mukhtasimova is a postdoctoral research associate. She has 10 years of professional experience, including nine years working in the Receptor Biology Laboratory at the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research. Specializing in biophysics, physiology and electrophysiology, Dr. Mukhtasimova conducts experiments, analyzes data and makes conclusions that relate to medical science. She is currently studying acetylcholine receptors, which are membrane proteins involved in chemical transduction in the nervous system.

Dr. Mukhtasimova completed a Ph.D. in biophysics at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics, located in Moscow, Russia. She also completed coursework at the Russian Academy of Science. Dr. Mukhtasimova is affiliated with the Society for Neuroscience, and the Biophysical Society. She supports The Humanist Society and the International Friendship Club. In the future, Dr. Mukhtasimova intends to further develop her research skills.
