Brandon Henderson Conducts Noteworthy Research on Nicotinic Receptors
Mr. Henderson received Ohio State University's Excellent Research in Neuropharmacology Award
COLUMBUS, OH, June 22, 2011 /Education PR News/ --Brandon J. Henderson, Graduate Research Associate at The Ohio State University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in neuropharmacology.
With an expertise in neuropharmacology, specifically nicotinic receptors, Mr. Henderson has proved his ability to take his knowledge of science and apply it to significant laboratory work. The winner of Ohio State University's Excellent Research in Neuropharmacology Award in August 2010, he conducts experiments, manages the laboratory and its finances, and lectures to classes and science groups on a routine basis. Motivated by his mentor, Dennis McKay, an associate professor of pharmacology, Mr. Henderson strives to provide students with the same encouragement that has propelled him forward in his field.
Mr. Henderson is pursuing a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University while simultaneously working for the college. He already holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, which he earned in 2006. To remain current with industry trends, Mr. Henderson is professionally affiliated with the Society for Neuroscience, AAA, the American Chemical Society, and the National Collegiate Honor Society. Looking forward, Mr. Henderson intends to work in a laboratory focused on cocaine addiction. His interest in studying the biological basis for the addiction has also fostered his aspiration to eventually establish his own laboratory.
