Carole Silva Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Higher Education

Carole Silva teaches online courses to graduate students at Marygrove College

    SANTA FE, NM, July 26, 2011 /Education PR News/ -- Carole Silva, Teacher for Marygrove College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.

A 31-year veteran of academia, Mrs. Silva is best noted for her abilities in language arts and reading instruction. She updates her involvement with a foray into Web-based education as a teacher of online courses at Marygrove College. In her current position, she conducts online reading and writing courses for graduate students and brings to her position her previous experience in a similar capacity at the University of California, Los Angeles. Mrs. Silva also has classroom experience, having taught at California State University, Los Angeles and at an elementary school for 22 years.

Mrs. Silva holds a Masters of Education. Additionally, she earned a Reading Specialisr in education from the University of Southern California, and is certified to teach kindergarten through the 12th grade in the states of California and New Mexico. She sits on the board of the American Literature Association and maintains affiliation with the International Reading Association. Previously, she served on the boards of Freedoms Foundation of Valley Forge and the California Reading Association. Honors of which she is a recipient include a Margaret Lynch Award, designation as a personal ambassador of the International Society of Poets, and selection as a VIP member of Cambridge Who's Who in 2010.

Determined to bring education into the lives of the less fortunate, Mrs. Silva plans to increase her involvement in reading instruction for homeless children.
