.
Mr. Thompson has 39 years of experience in the field, with six years of experience as an emergency medical technician program coordinator for SUNY Canton. Mr. Thompson, who holds a master's degree in mathematics, has been a certified emergency medical technician since 1972 and, since 1987, has been certified as an advanced life support provider. He is a two-time recipient of the Emergency Medical Service County Leadership Award, Educator of Excellence Award, and Emergency Medical Service of the Year award. In addition, he received the Fireman of the Year Award, and twice the EMS Provider of the Year Award from his local fire department. On June 9th of this year, Mr. Thompson was presented with the Canton Potsdam Hospital's Distinguished Board of Directors' Merit Award. This award is presented to an individual or organization deemed to be an exemplary leader on the health issues that face our community. In the future, Mr. Thompson aspires to continue teaching.
