Edwin Darracott Vaughan Jr., MD Featured in Cambridge Who's Who
Dr. Vaughan served as the chairman of the urology department at Weill Cornell Medical College for 24 years
NEW YORK, NY, July 21, 2011 /Education PR News/ -- Dr. E. Darracott Vaughan Jr., Professor Emeritus at Weill Cornell Medical College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in urology.
Dr. Vaughan, coming from a medical family, pursued a career in health care and discovered his interest in urology while earning an MD from the University of Virginia. He was then selected to join the faculty of the university, a position that functioned as a stepping stone to his appointment as chairman of urology at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Vaughan was a member of the faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College for 31 years and served as chairman of the urology department for 24 years. Now retired, he continues his affiliation with the university as a professor emeritus and offers consulting services.
Prior to earning an MD in 1965, Dr. Vaughan received a Bachelor of Science in premed from Washington and Lee University. He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of New York and is pursuing a medical license in the state of Wyoming. His professional affiliations include the American Urological Association and the Clinical Society of Genitourinary Surgeons. Dr. Vaughan is also the president of the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons and is on the Medical Center Operating Board of the University of Virginia.
