Wiltress T. Felder to be Featured in Exclusive Registry

Wiltress Felder has been a science teacher at Lugoff-Elgin High School for two years

LUGOFF, SC, August 30, 2011 /Education PR News/ -- Wiltress T. Felder, Science Teacher at Lugoff-Elgin High School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in secondary education.

With 20 years of professional experience, Ms. Felder attributes her success to three things: her faith, her family and her determination. Being the daughter of a pastor and teacher, her parents instilled the value of faith and education in her from a very young age. Through her years of teaching, she has had the opportunity to share her faith while teaching in private school and to carry herself in a manner that exhibits her faith.

While teaching science, she also coordinated science fairs (grades K-9), served as class sponsor/advisor, multicultural club advisor, and black history team coach, and coached students for the Science Bowl. In the summer, she continued to use her skills as a science educator as director of a YMCA science camp in the Maryland/D.C. area. While there, she coordinated and developed a science curriculum for grades K-8, and instituted an international fair that introduced students to people and places they may have never learned about in a classroom setting.

Currently, Ms. Felder is a ninth grade biology and physical science teacher at Lugoff-Elgin High School. She was an active member of Phi Delta Kappa International (UDC Chapter). When asked to name her greatest accomplishment, her answer is her daughter (a Furman University senior). Motherhood is her most important job. She waited until 2009 to get her master of arts degree in education from Columbia College so that her daughter could attend a private school in Maryland and Richland Northeast High School's magnet program in S.C. Ms. Felder is a volunteer for her local church and YMCA. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, photography, and traveling.
