Parker's Donates $1,000 to Effingham County Public Schools as Part of Fueling the Community Program
The Parker Companies, a nationally-recognized leader in convenience and fuel sales across southeast Georgia and South Carolina, presented a $1,000 "Fueling the Community" donation to Effingham County Public Schools on January 25.
SAVANNAH, GA, January 28, 2012 /Education PR News/ -- The Parker Companies, a nationally-recognized leader in convenience and fuel sales across southeast Georgia and South Carolina, presented a $1,000 "Fueling the Community" donation to Effingham County Public Schools on January 25.
Parker's offers a 1-Cent Wednesdays 'Fueling the Community' program at all of the company's convenience stores where one cent of every gallon of gas purchased on the first Wednesday of the month is donated back to community schools. As a result of this initiative, Parker's made its first donation to Effingham County Public Schools.
"It truly is my pleasure to make this donation to support education in Effingham County," said Greg Parker, president and CEO of The Parker Companies. "At Parker's, we appreciate the efforts teachers and administrators make to deliver a high-quality education for area students. This is the first of many donations we plan to make to Effingham County schools in the future."
To participate in Parker's "Fueling the Community" program, individuals can sign up for a PumpPal card online at www.parkersav.com or in any one of Parker's convenience stores. After completing the PumpPal card registration, individuals can select a school of their choice for their one cent per gallon donation. Existing PumpPal members can access their account online and select a school to receive donations.
"I'd like to thank the Board of Education for allowing me to come here today," said Parker, "and for all their hard work ensuring a quality education for children in Effingham County."
Parker's currently operates 26 convenience stores across the region and plans to open additional stores in Chatham, Liberty, Effingham, Bulloch, Jasper and Beaufort counties.
